VPOP events in May 2017:

(including changing Vale Park dates to the 1st and 3rd Monday mornings in the month, and Gilberton to the 1st and 3rd Friday  mornings in the month)

Monday 1.5.17   Vale Park (various): Trees for Life (TFL) work team assist VPOP at Vale Park sites.

Friday   5.5.17  Gilberton Woodland: Working bee 9.30 – noon (ish)

Monday 8.5.17  Off-site: Group VPOP visit to Marianne’s at Blackwood to see remnant Grey Box Woodland

Monday 15.5.17  Vale Park Wildflower Walk:  Working bee 9.30 – noon (ish)

Friday  19.5.17   Gilberton Woodland: Working bee 9.30 – noon (ish)

VPOP events in June 2017:

(Through June, Rose will be giving 2 Vale Park Primary classes a series of Fungi lessons including one lesson each on the Wildflower Walk, looking for fungi on site.  Heather may also assist in the classroom. )

Thursday 1.6.17   Vale Park (various): Trees for Life (TFL) work team assist VPOP at Vale Park sites.  Will be a Vale Park VPOP morning instead of Monday 5.6.17.

Wednesday 28.6.17  Off-site: Fungimap’s Dr Sapphire McMullan-Fisher arrives in Adelaide for a series of events funded through an NRM Action Community  Grant to VPOP.

Thursday 29.6.17  Off-site: Fungimap’s Dr Sapphire McMullan-Fisher attends lessons with primary students (possibly with Behind the News filming a segment) during the day.  After school, Sapphire will conduct a Teacher PD session on Fungi and associated teaching/curriculum resources at Vale Park Primary School. 

Friday 30.6.17  Off-site:  Dr Sapphire McMullan-Fisher visits Upper Sturt Primary during the day. In the evening at Vale Park Primary School from 7.30-9pm, she will gives a Public Talk on “The Vital Importance of Fungi”. See separate blog article. VPOP events in early July 2017:

Saturday 1.7.17  Off-site (Arbury Park): Dr Sapphire McMullan-Fisher to attend a Fungi Educator’s forum at Arbury Park Outdoor School at Bridgewater.

Sunday 2.7.17  Vale Park:  For VPOP members and special friends, a Fungi Foray on the Wildflower Walk at Vale Park with Dr Sapphire McMullan Fisher of Fungimap, at one of two sessions 10-10.45am or at 11-11.45am.  Bookings through Heather on 0409 916 644 or heatherwhiting@internode.on.net giving numbers, names, group affiliations (if any) and preferred session time.

Sunday 2.7.17  Off-site:  VPOP organisers debrief with Sapphire over lunch 12.30 – 2.00pm.
