It was a very friendly, productive community morning  at Gilberton Woodland on Friday 17th October 2014 …

The twig seen on this endangered Glycine tabacina plant is not actually a twig. It’s actually an amazingly convincing camouflaged Twig Looper Moth Caterpillar.

In the Gilberton Grassy Woodland, where we planted 2 Pink Fairy orchids (Caladenia latifolia) in 2010, we now have over 200 plants (all grown on site from seed) with 60 flower spikes!   The Pink Fairies are returning!

Spotted at VPOP: A tiny ‘Jewel Bee’ (Homalictus species) visiting a native flax flower (Linum marginale).

A variety of beautiful native wildflowers has been reintroduced to Vale Park at ‘Willow Bend’, including numerous varieties of native orchids.
