Carrying on from their superb assistance in August and September last year, VPOP was again fortunate to have the skilful and dedicated Trees For Life (TFL) teams assisting us in April, May and June this year.
Can you see the Slant-faced Grasshopper? On our 6th March working bee Rachel found this Slant Faced Grasshopper, despite it being excellently camouflaged.
On the 6th March working bee, we sadly said “Farewell” to Xanthe and her brother Saxon who are moving to Sydney. They have been a regular part of VPOP for the past year or so as special times with Grandma Lesley.
On Friday 14th and Saturday 15th November, we invited interested Gilberton residents to meet with us on site, have morning tea and discuss their views on possible changes to the Gilberton Woodland.

Now is the time to start looking for our native bees emerging from their burrows and under bark. Keep an eye out through spring and summer and watch for them zigzagging into their holes in the late afternoon.
